TIME to Explore
Located between the Manatee River, Perico Bay, and Palma Sola Bay, the eco-tourism haven of Robinson Preserve opened to the public on July 19, 2008. The new 487-acre conservation land consists of restored coastal habitat, and features 2.5 miles of kayaking and canoeing trails, approximately 100 acres of open water tidal systems, 56 acres of marshland and 30 acres of uplands. There are two piers, a 500-foot long boardwalk, six bridges and almost 10 miles of coastal, shell and paved trails with two 400-foot long pathways through mangrove forests. Cycling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and paddling make this preserve a nature lover’s paradise. For more information, click here.

TIME to Try the Island’s Best Burgers
When it comes to burgers, visitors have their choice between two Anna Maria Island institutions – Duffy’s Tavern and Skinny’s Place. In business since 1958, Duffy’s serves up juicy burgers and mugs of ice cold beer in air conditioned paradise in Holmes Beach. According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, “Suddenly, you feel more like a local because you know Duffy’s doesn’t have fries.” Housed in Duffy’s original location, Skinny’s Place serves up three generations of beer and burgers in a rustic ambiance across from the West Coast Surf Shop. Family-owned and operated, Skinny’s prides themselves on burgers & fries in a “simply classic” open-air atmosphere. For more information, click here.

TIME for Fresh Fall Cuisine
Check out a fresh new recipe from Sean Murphy and the Beach Bistro on Anna Maria Island. This dish makes coastal cuisine effortless. The flavors are a fusion of Gulf Coast, Asian and Latin cuisine, and the finished product is colorful, delicious and can also be grilled in advance and served chilled. For ease of preparation, consider loading the chilled version into a cooler with appropriate libations, and get out on the water for a beautiful Gulf sunset. For the complete recipe, click here.
